Privacy notice
A business built on confidence should collect as little as it can. This site collects only what you choose to send us.

Who we are
This site is run by incitee, R&D Department, Mahindra University, Telangana, India 500 043. You can reach us about privacy at acquisitions@incitee.com.
What we collect
If you use the enquiry form or one of the four forms on the begin page, we receive what you type: what you would like to do, your name and e-mail address, and, if you give them, your WhatsApp number, your organisation, a journal’s ISSN or subject area, and your message. The forms take no files: this website does not accept documents. With it we record the date and time, and a one-way code made from your connection’s internet address. That code cannot be turned back into the address; we use it only to limit repeated submissions from one connection.
If you write to us by e-mail or on WhatsApp, we receive what you send.
Like any website, our web host may keep standard server logs, such as the time of a request and the address it came from, to run and protect the server.
The chat assistant
The chat button opens an automatic assistant. It is not a person: it looks up answers in the public pages of this website, and a person at incitee replies to anything it cannot answer. The questions you type are matched against our pages and are not stored by us. They stay in your browser tab only, so the conversation can carry on if you open a link from an answer, and they are removed when you press “Start again” or close the tab. Nothing you type is sent to any outside service. If you choose “Leave a message here” and tick the consent box, we keep your name, your e-mail address or phone number, your message and the last question you asked, with the date and time, the page you were on and the same one-way coded connection code described above, in a private folder, and send the message to our mailbox. We use these only to reply to you. The coded connection code is also used to limit how many questions one connection can ask in a short time. Please do not put a journal’s name or any document in the message.
What we do not collect
- No analytics, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- No third-party scripts, and no fonts or other files loaded from other websites: everything on these pages is served from incitee.com.
The valuation lookup
When you type an ISSN on the valuation page, our server (not your browser) asks two public registries, OpenAlex and Crossref, what they record for that ISSN. Only the ISSN is sent, together with our own contact address so that the registries can reach us if our requests cause a problem. Nothing about you is sent. Your browser never contacts either registry.
The answer is kept on our server for up to 24 hours, so that the same lookup is not repeated, and then replaced. The lookup page records no name or e-mail address. To limit repeated use it counts lookups per connection, using the same one-way code described above, and we cap the total number of calls we make to each registry per day.
The cookies
The contact, begin and valuation pages set a single cookie, named incitee_form. The chat assistant sets the same cookie only if you open its message form. Asking it questions sets no cookie. It holds a random session code so that a form can check it was sent from this site, and so that the result of a lookup can be shown to you after the page reloads. It is deleted when you close your browser. The owner’s private area uses its own cookie, which is not set for visitors.
How we use what you send
To reply to you and to deal with your enquiry, and, if it leads to a sale, to arrange that sale under the non-disclosure agreement and the agreements that follow. We do not sell your details or use them for advertising. We share them with another party only with your agreement, for example with a buyer or seller once a non-disclosure agreement is signed, or where the law requires it.
Where it is kept, and for how long
A form sends your request to our mailbox and keeps a copy on our web server, in a folder that is not open to the public. We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any sale that follows, and afterwards for as long as the law requires.
Your choices
You may ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to acquisitions@incitee.com.
Messages you send us on WhatsApp are also handled under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
